Storage

Refrigerate chilled haggis promptly on arrival and follow the use-by date and storage directions on the pack. Macsween advises that its products can be frozen for up to six months; follow the pack’s instructions for the product supplied. If supplied frozen, keep frozen as directed. Defrost in the fridge before cooking unless the pack specifically allows cooking from frozen. Follow any shorter after-opening or after-defrosting limit on the label.

Cooking guidance

For this 907g size, the manufacturer-linked cooking guide gives an oven method of approximately 105 minutes at 180°C / 160°C fan / Gas 4. Remove the outer packaging, retain the casing, wrap in foil and place in an ovenproof dish with about 2.5cm boiling water. Keep the water topped up and remove casing and clips before serving. Follow your pack if its instructions differ. Check that the centre is piping hot throughout. Do not reheat after heating and cooling.
