The 400g pack gives two 200g main portions or three lighter portions of about 133g with generous sides. See our haggis portion guide for help planning a larger meal.

Ingredients and allergens

Recipe overview: oats, lentils, kidney beans, onion, carrot, swede, mushrooms, vegetable oils, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and seasoning. This is a summary, not the full pack declaration.

Allergen advice: Contains oats (gluten). May contain wheat (gluten).

Always read the current pack label before cooking or eating. If you need to check a specific ingredient or allergy, please contact us before ordering.

Storage

Refrigerate chilled haggis promptly on arrival and follow the use-by date and storage directions on the pack. Macsween advises that its products can be frozen for up to six months; follow the pack’s instructions for the product supplied. If supplied frozen, keep frozen as directed. Defrost in the fridge before cooking unless the pack specifically allows cooking from frozen. Once defrosted, consume within 24 hours and do not refreeze. Follow any shorter after-opening limit on the label.

Cooking guidance

For a defrosted 400g pack, the published microwave instructions are 10 minutes at 800W on full power. Remove all packaging, casing and clips, cut up in a microwave-safe dish, cover and stir during heating and before serving. Follow the current pack instructions if different. Check that the centre is piping hot throughout. Do not reheat after heating and cooling.

Read our haggis cooking guide for preparation tips.

Serving suggestions

Serve with mashed neeps and tatties. For a vegan meal, prepare the vegetables with plant-based butter or oil and choose a vegan sauce. Our guide to what to serve with haggis offers more serving ideas; check every accompaniment’s ingredients separately.
